Easter Sunday
On Easter Sunday we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus. An odd thing to celebrate you might think unless you understand the price he paid and what it accomplished. He was beaten, abused and spat upon, laughed at and despised and suffered the most cruel form of tortuous death but in the midst of all that the wrongdoing of all mankind was heaped on his back and he experienced separation from Father God for the first time. His death cancelled the debt of all that sin and his resurrection opened up the way for us to have a fresh start, to live free and enjoy a relationship with God as our Father.
Do you feel like you need a fresh start? Is addiction, anxiety, fear, tragedy, hurt or your mistakes holding you back? The Bible says that if we are genuinely sorry for the mess we have got into and bring it all to God he is faithful to forgive us and to clean us up. We invite Jesus to take charge and commit to following his lead in our lives and choices, he promises to guide us and strengthen us and to never leave or forsake us. Life may not always be plain sailing but with Jesus we will be able to find peace in every situation.
Want to know more? A good place to start would be a visit to church on Easter Sunday.
