Roar of the fire. –
I now have my wood burning stove fired up in the workshop while I am working in there.
I find that I have to keep returning to it to keep the fire burning. However, sometimes I am busy doing things and I forget to put wood on, so what is left of the fire is just embers!!
Thinking I had missed any chance of reviving the fire I tried putting a few thin sticks on top and closed the door!!
After a while the wood started to burn, and the fire restarted because the air from the vent underneath provided the flow of air to make the embers grow brighter. However, if I fully opened the small door underneath the flow of air was much stronger and the fire roared into life much quicker!!
So, the next time this happened I was more confident that the fire would roar into life again.
Is God saying something to me here?
Yes, even when we have little hope/faith we must try. God will surprise us with that roar!
Be patient and wait for the wind of the Holy Spirit to make those embers of faith come alive.
Be confident that the (putting on of a few thin sticks) praying will work.
2 Timothy 1 v 6&7. I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God which is in you.
