...THE DAY WE WENT TO SCARBOROUGH
I would like to say a big 'THANK YOU' to all of you who came to Scarborough yesterday. It was a brill day of sun and beach, of swimming, rounders and of course - fish and chips. Praise God, not a drop of rain until after we started home and beautiful blue sky. All very different to last year!
The thank you to all who came is for demonstrating your maturity in keeping a positive and good heart in all that travelling time. First of all the Alfreton pick up was forgotten, so they had to wait while the Chesterfield folk travelled back on the coach to fetch them. Then the coach broke down and we spent over an hour in a layby not knowing if another coach would be found to take us on. We left at 8.30am and got there at 2pm. Then coming back we had delays due to holiday traffic.
So well done everyone for keeping a smile on your faces and making the best of the situation. I've had texts from people to say they had a brilliant time despite it all. That's real kingdom for all to see.
