UKRAINE SOCIAL

For a few weeks now Central Methodist have been hosting a gathering of Ukranian families who now live in our area. It takes place on Saturdays from 11- 3pm and provides a place for displaced families to meet with other Ukranians and those hosting or hoping to host families. It is an informal family time with sandwiches and drinks, time to chat and games for the children. The Quaker Church in Chesterfield has also offered to host this event once a month.

There are lots of advantages for the families in being able to meet together and we trust they are finding the support of local churches a benefit too. We know that two ladies from the same town in Ukraine were delighted to find each other here.

NLC are hosting the event at Central Methodist on Saturday 18th June. If any church members would be interested in going along or providing some sandwiches or cake for the event please contact our coordinators Adam & Delisha Ruskin.
