FANTASTIC HARVEST COLLECTION

This year we decided to have a special harvest food collection on behalf of Chesterfield Foodbank. Uptake from people in crisis at the foodbank is increasing month by month and it is expected that this will continue as inflation and rising fuel costs have an impact. People just like you and me who never expected to need to use a foodbank in order to feed their families are finding it is such a life saver. In recent months the demand has been such that the foodbank has had to dip into financial resources to buy food just to try and keep ahead of the demand. Understandably, the amount of donations has decreased as more people are having to make their money stretch further.

As a church we believe in the Biblical principle of sowing and reaping. If we share what we have with a thankful heart for God’s wonderful provision he will ensure that we have what we need when we need it.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.’ (Luke 6:38)
