TESTIMONY FROM IRENE

One day last week I was out walking and I came across a scruffy bit of ground behind Arkwright town. It was overgrown. There was something that looked like an old concrete drain and there was a bit of an unpleasant smell. Being curious, I had to explore a bit and, coming round a corner, I discovered something exciting - a pond.

As I managed to get closer, I heard lots of plopping in the water and stood still to watch. Suddenly I could see that the pond was teeming with life. There were hundreds of little fish, presumably minnows and a black head swimming away. The sun was shining on the water. There were reeds, irises and water lilies growing. It was absolutely beautiful. If I hadn't made the effort to go through the overgrown path, I would have missed it. I felt God gave me the phrase ' There is always more '

On Easter Sunday we were thinking about finding life in surprising places. No one expected to find life in a tomb, but there it was. With my own life, I felt everything stopped when Jim died. The future we had planned was gone. But Jesus was saying to me that there is always more. He will bring life in unexpected places. I had to make an effort to go through the overgrown path to find the pond teeming with life. So it is with our lives. If we spend time seeking Jesus today, we will find that new life and hope round the corner.
