HAPPY BIRTHDAY YOUR MAJESTY

Our celebrations may not have been on such a grand scale as those on the Mall this Sunday but we had just as much fun and stayed a whole lot drier! During our worship time, as the children made crowns, we heard some of the amazing statements of faith and affirmation of the gospel that the Queen has made in recent speeches. Like this from Christmas 2011:
God sent into the world a unique person – neither a philosopher nor a general (important though they are) – but a Saviour, with the power to forgive.  Forgiveness lies at the heart of the Christian faith.  It can heal broken families, it can restore friendships and it can reconcile divided communities.  It is in forgiveness that we feel the power of God’s love.

We toasted her majesty's birthday with cups of tea, iron bru or ginger beer and enjoyed a magnificent picnic banquet provided by the church family. Even Clarence the corgi made an appearance on the buffet table.  Special thanks to Katie for the magnificent royal birthday cake.

The party (and the eating) continued later at Cafe Church with a good time of worship and fellowship together.
