BIBLE STUDIES FROM CHURCH LEADERS - JANET CARNELL

Trust {lean on, rely on and be confident} in the Lord and do good, so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on his faithfulness and truly you shall be fed.
Delight yourself also in the lord and he will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord {roll and repose each care of your load on Him {trust, lean on, rely on, and be confident} also in Him and he will bring it to pass.
Psalm 37; 3-5 Amplified Bible.

David's call is to trust, lean on and have confidence in the Eternal God, have a strong belief in him, in the one who will take upon himself all our burdens, not just a quick trust but as stated in Isaiah 24 v 6 it is an everlasting trust. Our trust is not like putting our trust in our fellow man but in a powerful God.    1 Corinthians 2 v 5.

He says that we dwell, abide, inhabit and remain in the land. It also infers to describe that man can be in God’s presence and have an inheritance forever with God. This word is used about 130 times in the Old Testament. If we are in the presence of God, we will be fed straight from God himself-for if we abide with him, we share all he possesses. God will dwell in the hearts of man by faith. Christ the son is in us. Colossians 1 v 27. we are his house, Hebrews 3 v 6, John 14 v 23, 1 Corinthians 3 v 16.

Being given the desires of our hearts does not mean we will get that Ferrari / Lamborghini we aspire to drive one day. To delight ourselves in God means to take pleasure in being a part of God and to drink deeply of him. Our desires will be satisfied, Proverbs 10 v 24. and this is for our good. Even the desires we have in secret will be fulfilled. No one other than you and God will know of these and will come to fulfilment if God sees that potential in you and if you are totally honest and open with him. We need to be totally committed to what we want (in the Lord). Not just have it as a whim or passing fancy.
Committing to something means to give your whole life to pursuing it through the grace given to us by the Father. We entrust our whole self to having, no halfheartedness about what we are willing to give. No sitting on the fence!
If we commit wholeheartedly to putting everything we have to God, we will never have to worry because he guards and fully commits to us. Christ gave his all as the only begotten Son so that we have full entrance to the Father, and we can stay there forever.

Psalm 23 v 6
Surely only goodness mercy and unfailing love shall follow all the days of my life, through the length of all my days the house of the Lord and his presence shall be my dwelling place. Amp bible

So, we should do as David says -entrust everything, our lives, families, jobs, possessions to his control and guidance. So, let’s get to know God deeper, for he cares for us, ultimately better than we can ourselves. We need to realise that we need sometimes to wait, so he can work out what’s best for us. AMEN
