BOUNCING RAIN, BINGO AND BIG BERTHA!

 We are a resilient bunch at NLC so the small matter of Big Bertha and a yellow weather warning were not going to put us off our annual trip to Scarborough this Sunday.  Almost from the moment we all got on the coach it began to rain but Bev and Nick had all sorts of  'in flight' entertainment in store. Every child was given their own goodie bag and for the adults Bus Bingo proved very popular.  The cryptic quiz from Toni simply proved that Jacky know the names of far too many chocolate bars (who'd have thought it?).

When we arrived at Scarborough the rain was pretty torrential but the forecast had said that there may be a break around 3 pm so Dave was still hopeful for a game of rounders.  In reality that was when the thunder storm started! We squelched between coffee shops and shopping centres, more coffee shops and ended the afternoon with a sit in restaurant for fish and chips.

It may not have been the sunny afternoon on the beach that we were hoping for but there was lots of time for fellowship over a cuppa and comparing who had the worst wet patches! Bus Bingo was back by popular request on the way home followed by Dave and Alison's TV Trivia Quiz which was fiercely contested by two teams at the back of the bus.  We were back home before we knew it with sunshine breaking through the clouds as we drove into Chesterfield.
