NEW LIFE HAS GOT TALENT!

What a great evening we had on Saturday and so many hitherto undiscovered talents!  Big thanks to Bev and Nick, the organisers, to everyone who took part and all those who came to be entertained.

Helen led everyone in the actions to 'Superman', Joe sang for us and Bev and Nick led us in 'I am the music man...'.  Accompanied by Maria, Liz stunned us with her lovely voice - we didn't know she used to sing with a band.  Toni performed two of her own special poems.

Peter said he was going to play the elders' theme tune - turned out to be 'Last of the Summer Wine'.  We are as yet undecided which of them is in charge of the wacky ideas and which is best suited to the role of Compo!  Which one can you imagine hurtling through the Derbyshire countryside in an old bath?  Peter also played and sang my favourite - Arnold the Frog.

Tom (aka Frank) gave such a good performance of 'I've Got You Under My Skin' that he was asked to do an encore with 'New York, New York'.  Moreen played her own song accompanying herself on the guitar.

The surprise of the evening was the transformation that took place to mild mannered Dave W who became a comedy legend overnight. He appeared on stage in a bright red jacket, red scarf, black curly wig and hat apologising that he hadn't dressed for the occasion!  Had us in stitches and he was so good we have already booked him for the Christmas Party!

Finished off the evening with the Morecambe and Wise of NLC singing 'Bring Me Sunshine'  (Nick and the one with the "short fat hairy legs".)

Such a lot of fun as church family together.  Check out our Facebook page for photos from the night and keep watching this space for details of our next event.
