BACON BUTTIES & CHOCOLATE CAKE!
There's been such a lot going on this weekend at NLC!
On Saturday morning we had the next installment of Worship Central with Gail serving up excellent bacon butties, worship from the team at Stretton (including songs written by the team themselves), Jayne talking about working as an effective team together (Turn up, Excel, Attitude, Membership) and some lively discussion over coffee to finish. The next one is Saturday 1st March.
On Saturday night George from NLC was out on duty as a street pastor in monsoon conditions! Recruiting now if this sounds like a fun night out to you.
On Sunday morning we loaned Dave out to speak at Grace Chapel (yes, we do want him back please). Meanwhile at the Winding Wheel Gail led us in worship with husband Wilf leading the worship band. We had a great time with loads of words of encouragement to get ourselves in the mix as God is 'stirring up the pot' by the Holy Spirit. Most exciting that one dear lady gave her heart to Jesus this morning and so many people wanted prayer to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Jayne reprised some of her talk from Worship Central but focusing on us as the body of Christ, each of us God's first choice for his team, perfectly equipped for the task he has in mind for us, not trying to be anyone else but being the best 'me' that we can.
Then Sunday afternoon we launched Cafe Church at The Compass. Amazing turn out from both NLC and friends from other local churches for our first night. The worship group did a great job, playing for much longer than they had expected. Ben spoke about his vision for Cafe Church, engage God in worship and engage with each other to encourage and fellowship. All this and lovely coffee with delicious home made cake (special commendation to Patrick and Shaun on their baking!). Cafe Church will be back next Sunday at 6 pm and everyone is welcome.
