JOINING TOGETHER TO PRAY FOR WHITTINGTON
Our time together was opened by local curate, Janet Quick reading from Matthew 9: 36-38
"Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds he had compassion on them, because they were harrassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
Our prayer for Whittington focused on three areas - for the schools with all their pupils and staff, for families in the area experiencing real hardship for a variety of reasons and for the local churches to be a blessing in their community and to see increase in the family of God.
Such a good time with 30 people from at least 6 churches with very different backgrounds but joined in heart to see the blessing of God in Old Whittington, New Whittington and Whittington Moor. As we prayed, we believe the scripture that says where brothers dwell in unity God commands a blessing.
