BIBLE STUDY FROM NLC LEADERS - ALISON BUNTING
My tongue will be the pen of a ready writer
Psalm 45v1-9
Read the verses slowly and prayerfully. Let God speak to you through this psalm.
Allow it to stir your heart.
Read the verses slowly and prayerfully. Let God speak to you through this psalm.
Allow it to stir your heart.
I am reminded of the old song and you can find it on YouTube;
‘I hear the sound of rusting in the leaves of the trees
The spirit of the Lord has come down on earth
The church that seemed in slumber had now risen to its knees
And dry bones are responding with the fruits of new birth
Oh now is a time of declaration
The word will go to all men everywhere
The church is here for healing of the nations
Behold the day of Jesus drawing near,
My tongue will be the pen of a ready writer
And what’s the father gives to me I will sing
I only want to be His breath
I only want to glorify the king.’
1. In this day we (The church) can be Gods mouthpiece. Let our prayer be “I only want to glorify the King.”
Jesus was the window to God. If you want to know what the father looks like look to Jesus.
If people want to know what Jesus looks like they should be able to look to us.
In these difficult days we can be the signpost to Jesus. “What the Father gives to me I will say”
What is Gods now word?
“Thank you” to a shop assistant who serves you or the delivery man.
“I’m thinking of you“ card to a neighbour.
“I’m praying for you” text to a friend.
It doesn’t have to be complicated. Let God use you today.
2. Put on your garments of splendour. Your best clothes/ Your wedding clothes.
Put on your garments of praise.
When you feel low (lockdown can make you feel low at times and the news is not exactly uplifting) praise like never before as praise is a weapon.
“I’m gonna sing in the midst of the storm
Louder and louder your gonna hear my praises roar”
3. Vs 6 and 7 refer to Jesus and are also in Hebrews 1v 8 and 9
Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.
Jesus will get us through this challenging time.
He knows the beginning from the end.
He is unchanging!
V 17 of psalm 45 says
I will perpetuate your memory through all generations
Therefore the nations will praise you for ever and ever!
