AMAZED AT WHAT GOD CAN DO
Last night Dave presented our financial report for the year August 2013 - July 2014 at an open meeting. The topic of accounts doesn't fire the enthusiasm of many but I have to say I have always enjoyed these meetings. Not because I'm a number cruncher but because we look back over all the things that we have achieved in a year - or to be correct what God has done through us - and I never cease to be amazed at how much that is. With a slightly reduced income we have managed to increase our spending on Evangelism and resourcing Children's Ministry, paid all the bills and put on some amazing events.
The closing paragraph of our report sums up: "It is clear that we do not have money stored up in the bank but we have been able to fulfil our obligations to the staff and the Church and we have been able to invest much into people's lives both in the Church and in the community. Our desire is to show the love of God to all."
We owe a debt of thanks to Heather who has fulfilled the role of Treasurer for the church for seven years and is now stepping down. She has faithfully watched over our bank balance over that time and tried her level best to reign in Dave's generous nature - not an easy task!
A big thank you from Dave, Peter and Martyn for your generosity and giving hearts with encouragement to continue sowing your lives and your finances into the kingdom of God. God remains in debt to no man and he will reward your giving according to the measure you choose.
"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Luke 6:38
